From 2017 to 2023, I curated the exhibitions—both permanent and temporary—at the NAMM Museum of Making Music (MoMM) in Carlsbad, CA and, each January, at MoMM’s booth at the NAMM Show in Anaheim, CA. My activities have included conception, ideation, research, fieldwork, script writing, object selection, visual design, interaction and experience design, software programming, fabrication, and installation.
Purpose: To encourage visitors to consider the many roles that music can play in their lives, in their communities, and in the world at large through a series of provocative questions.
Purpose: To realign the Museum's core exhibition galleries with stated institutional goal of 'exploring the accomplishments and impact of the music products industry.'
Purpose: Presenting and exploring six fundamental concepts in audio synthesis to provide visitors with a functional understanding of how synthesizers create sound.
Purpose: Prompting visitors to consider the role that physical media play as markers of temporal duration.
Purpose: Examining the contemporary state of the accordion in the USA, providing visitors with a sense of the instrument's versatility and the diversity of its players.
Purpose: Exploring the impact of visual media on the experience of music through the work of music photographer Henry Diltz.
